Email Placeholders

Save time when emailing your candidates and prepare email templates for some of the most common topics and conversations.

To get the most out of your TalentLyft experience and to save you more time, we added the option to use email templates when communicating with your candidates. When editing your templates, you can also use Email placeholders.


NOTE: Placeholders are available in all forms of email communication in TalentLyft, not just when editing templates.

Placeholders are replaced with a dynamic value (e.g. the candidate’s first name, your name, or the position title) when the email is sent, to add a more personal touch to your mass communication.
When you open the email editor, click on the Merge field icon to open the list of available placeholders.


Here you can find the list of all available placeholders and their meaning:

Candidate placeholders

  • Full name – candidate’s first and last name. It will appear as {Candidate} in the email text editor.

  • First name – candidate’s first name

  • Last name – candidate’s last name

  • Current job title – current job title, if the candidate is employed

  • Current company – current company name, if the candidate is currently employed

Sender placeholders (all values can be edited in your Profile settings)

  • Name – your first and last name

  • Headline – your position at the company

  • Phone – your phone number

  • Email – your email address

  • Signature – your signature

Job placeholders

  • Job Title – the jobs title (the full name of the job you entered when editing your job description)

  • Job URL – job’s specific URL that will lead to the job ad on your Careers page

Company placeholders

  • Name – your TalentLyft company name

  • Website – the link to your main company website. It will appear as {CompanyUrl} in the email text editor.

  • Career Page – the link to your TalentLyft career page. It will appear as {CompanyCareerPagesUrl} in the email text editor.

GDPR placeholders

  • Candidate portal – the link to the candidate portal. There candidates can review their applications, edit their information, give or revoke privacy consents, and delete their data.

  • Consent request – the link to the consent window. Candidates can update their privacy policy consents there.

Communication placeholders

  • Communication preferences – the link that leads to the unsubscribe page

NOTE: When sending bulk emails to candidates (through Track or Engage), each candidate will receive a personalized mail, with their specific information in place of a placeholder value.
