Adding and Editing Candidate Rejection Reasons

Add custom rejection reasons to your TalentLyft account and later use them when disqualifying candidates from a selection process

Updated over a week ago

Throughout your hiring process, at any stage of your hiring pipeline, if you decide that a candidate is not suitable for that position, you can disqualify his/her job application.

NOTE: You can also disqualify more than one candidate at a time, using the bulk disqualify action.

Another thing that can happen is that the candidate rejects you, as an employer. In TalentLyft, you can add a Rejection reason with the appropriate Reason type.

NOTE: The disqualified candidate will stay in your candidate database after you disqualified him/her.

To add a rejection reason, click on your Avatar icon and select the App settings option.

Select Rejection reasons from the list and the customization window will open.

Here you have the option to add a rejection reason with the appropriate reason name and reason type. You can also edit existing ones and delete them.

To add a rejection reason, click on the Add button, located on the upper right side of the screen. Enter the required information (reason name and reason type) and click on the Save button to save your changes.

  • Reason name is the free text field and you can write your reason there.

  • Reason type, when clicked on, will open a drop-down options menu.

To edit or delete a rejection reason, click on the pen icon (edit option) or the trash bin icon (delete option) for the reason you wish to interact with.
